1. About these terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the MatchPlayKing website and mobile web application (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by MATCHPLAYKNG Limited ("we", "us" or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. This page is maintained by MatchPlayKing to answer common questions about using the app and is not independent legal advice.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Please let us know immediately if you think your account has been compromised.
3. What you can do
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial golf scoring and social purposes. You may not scrape, reverse-engineer, interfere with, or overload the Service, and you may not use it for any illegal or abusive purpose.
4. User content
You keep ownership of any content you post (such as photos, scores and comments). By posting it, you give us permission to host, display and share it as needed to run the Service. You must not post content that is unlawful, offensive, defamatory, infringing, or that violates anyone else's rights. We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these rules.
5. Subscriptions and payments
MatchPlayKing offers free accounts and paid subscriptions. Pricing, billing periods and features are shown in the app before you subscribe. Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel before the renewal date. Refunds are handled in line with applicable consumer law. The first 500 founding members receive 12 months free as a promotional offer.
6. Cancellations and termination
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms or if we need to protect the Service or other users.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". While we aim to keep scoring accurate and the app available, we do not guarantee that it will always be error-free, uninterrupted or suitable for a particular purpose. Golf scores and handicaps shown in the app are for recreational use and should not be relied on as official WHS or competition records unless separately verified.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, MATCHPLAYKNG Limited and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £100 if you have a free account.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version in the app and update the "last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the new terms.
